Malcolm Group Inc. began in 1971 with an invention by Malcolm Roebuck that was patented and marketed under the name Badge-A-Minit. It consisted of a badge-making machine that sold for $29.95 and developed into a range of machines including bench and electrically operated versions that are still very popular today.
Other companies within the Malcolm Group grew from core products and capabilities. Malcolm Marketing Communications, Inc. took root in LaSalle, Illinois in 1981 as a multi-media advertising agency for general advertising and catalog production. The company grew both internally and through multiple acquisitions to become the full service agency that today services industries from its Chicago and Milwaukee offices as well as its headquarters in Madison, Wisconsin.
One of the creative endeavors advocated by Malcolm Marketing Communications back in 1984 was the creation of The Best Impressions Catalog Company. Best Impressions has become the most popular specialty advertising mail order catalog in America and is now one of the largest companies in the Group. It also publishes The Best Impressions Sourcebook.
Badge-A-Minit, Ltd. was created by designing a new machine that undercut all of the existing machines and technology. This same concept was applied by our newer company called Imprintor, Inc. In 2003 Imprintor announced a pad-printing system for less than one thousand dollars when all others were selling in the many thousands. Imprintor can be seen at trade shows throughout the United States.
All Web Promotion, Inc. has led the way in developing and promoting our corporate web sites as well as offering services in web design and internet management to hundreds of customers through its offices in Oglesby, Illinois and Point of Rocks, Maryland. They provide the latest in Internet traffic generation and customer satisfaction techniques in the changing internet environment.
